Trbojevic to undergo surgery in injury blow for Sea Eagles

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles fullback Tom Trbojevic is set for a stint on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury in their Round Four victory against Canberra Raiders on Saturday.

There were initial concerns for the reigning Dally M Medal winner when he appeared after halftime with strapping around his right knee, with scans revealing a medial tear.

The Sea Eagles confirmed their star No.1 will now require surgery and is expected to be unavailable for at least four weeks.

The injury news is unfortunate for Trbojevic, who was just starting to rediscover his 2021 form over the past fortnight.

His performance against Canberra was his best of the season to date, scoring a try, making a line-break and seven tackle busts, and running for 289 metres including 84 post-contact.
