Westpac NSW Blues forward Keaon Koloamatangi says winning a NRL Premiership is in the forefront of his mind after agreeing to remain at South Sydney for another two seasons.
The Rabbitohs today announced his re-signing until the end of 2026.
The 25-year-old has had a big year already having made his State of Origin debut and last week being picked for Tonga in the historic tour of England – the first by the Pacific nation. He already has five Tests with Tonga.
Koloamatangi is a South Sydney junior from the same club as his NSW and Rabbitohs teammate Cameron Murray – the Mascot Jets.
He played 82 NRL matches, all with the Rabbitohs since making his debut in 2020, and believes the club is on the brink of something substantial.
“There’s massive belief here that we can win comps,” he told rabbitohs.com.au
“We’ve been very close in recent years so I didn’t want to leave and throw away all of the hard work we’ve done, as well as the hard work we have in front of us. That’s not in my DNA.
“The Rabbitohs are always in the forefront of my mind and I want to win at least one comp here before I retire.”
Koloamatangi was due to go on the open market on 1 November.
“It means the world to me and my family to be re-signing with the Rabbitohs,” he said.
“We had a bit to think about going into November and I wanted to get something done before then with the club.
“I’m grateful that everything has panned out. My family and I are happy and we think that Souths is the best place to be for our future.”
