The NSWRL is thrilled to welcome back leading Australian insurance company GIO as a major partner of the organisation from the Westpac NSW Blues men’s and women’s State of Origin teams right through to grassroots Rugby League.
GIO, who have previously been a partner of the NSWRL, have signed a multi-year agreement and will immediately appear on the Women’s coaches’ polos and at-match in the coach’s box, player benches and dressing rooms across Origin matches.
GIO also has naming rights to GIO Team Picker – an interactive fan engagement tool that allows fans to select their preferred team lineup for the Blues throughout the Origin series.
At a community level, GIO will brand junior dummy-half and first receiver bibs, to support NSWRL’s inclusive policies of ensuring all players are involved in games and get to touch the ball.
NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said he was thrilled to welcome GIO back as an official partner, supporting the game from grassroots and community to the elite Blues men’s and women’s teams.
“NSW Rugby League and the NSW Blues are very committed to acknowledging and celebrating our heritage so this partnership has great synergy, given GIO’s strong heritage and connection in NSW,” Trodden said.
“Both of our organisations have been serving the people of this state for more than 100 years and we are very proud to once again be joining forces at all levels of the game across NSW.”
EGM Brand and Customer Experience Mim Haysom said: “GIO is proud to be the Major Partner of NSW Rugby League and the Blues.
“This partnership incorporates support at the grassroots and community level all the way to our elite Women’s and Men’s Blues teams.”
“GIO, like NSWRL and the Blues, has a strong NSW Heritage, and has been committed to protecting what matters for the people of NSW for nearly 100 years. We’re delighted to partner with another iconic and much-loved NSW organisation.”
