The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup is the state's premier men's open-age competition, directly feeding into the NRL.

The NSW Rugby League this year announced a new naming-rights partner for the state's premier competition, The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup, which was previously known as Reserve Grade, Presidents Cup, NSWRL First Division, NSWRL Premier League, Intrust Super Premiership NSW and Canterbury Cup NSW.

The competition continues to be a vital pathway for the NRL and features NRL-contracted players every weekend from 11 clubs across Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle and Canberra.

In 2019, the Newtown Jets won the premiership with a 20-15 win over the Wentworthville Magpies in an extra-time thriller while last season’s competition was cancelled because of COVID-19.
