The New South Wales Rugby League would like to send its deepest condolences to the family and friends of former Cronulla-Sutherland Rugby League Football Club Secretary, Arthur Winn.
Winn was instrumental in the club’s entry into the premier NSWRL competition in 1967, taking over as Secretary midway through that inaugural season.
Winn finished up in 1982 as Cronulla’s longest serving official in the Secretary/CEO role. The Sharks reached the 1973 and 1978 Grand Finals during his time at the club.
Originally from the Como Jannali club, Winn was active in the local Sutherland Shire junior club during its formative years.
Aged 93, he watched the 2016 Sharks Grand Final triumph from his place of residence at the John Paul Village nursing home in Heathcote.
Winn was a strong supporter of the NSWRL and served on the General Committee of the NSWRL for many years.
