Newtown Jets - 2016. Image: Mario Facchini.

With the Sharks taking out the NRL premiership and feeder club the Newtown Jets falling one game short of the Intrust Super Premiership NSW Grand Final last year, 2017 could be a big one for the bluebags. Josh Cleeland, Matt McIlwrick and Jacob Gagan are the major deductions from the 2016 crop, but the Jets will welcome the likes of Manaia Cherrington and Ben Fritz in a big to maintain their form from last year. Coach Greg Matterson, who has now been at the club for 10 years, names the 13 players most likely to be regulars in the Jets' outfit this season.
