In 2016, the North Sydney Bears became known as a team which could perform well in the Intrust Super Premiership NSW on their day, despite relatively few players earning NRL call-ups. A consistent crop of exceptional talent blesses the Bears again this year, which coach Ben Gardiner hopes will lift them into premiership contention. Gardiner runs through the squad of 13 men he expects to challenge for the title this year, including experienced captain Ed Murphy.
