Each week of the NRL season, the NSWRL.com.au staff writers will have their say on the round's best performing New South Welshmen. These are based entirely on the opinions of the writers and do not necessarily reflect the views of the NSWRL or the State of Origin selection process.
1 - James Tedesco (c)
Club: Wests Tigers; Origin Appearances: 1.
193 total metres, 123 kick return metres; two try-assists, two line-breaks, one try.
The incumbent NSW VB Blues fullback had no right to score the Tigers' second, but managed to beat four Rabbitohs to plant the ball down. Linked up with debutant Moses Suli on two occasions to result in tries, while he was equally effective returning the football. Tedesco was easily the best player at ANZ Stadium on Friday night and wasted no time in pressing his case for more representative honours.
