Competition - State of Origin. Round - Game 1. Teams - Queensland Maroons v NSW Blues. Date - 1st of June 2016. Venue - ANZ Stadium, NSW. Photographer - Paul Barkley.

The NSW VB Blues players have been polled in the lead-up to Origin I, 2017, with this the first in their series of answers.

We asked them a range of questions, with "Who is Queensland's most dangerous player?" first cab off the rank.

Some couldn’t give an answer but there was one player who first came to mind for a lot of the NSW players.

James Maloney:
“Cameron Smith organises a lot of what they do – he’s the first bloke to touch the ball and doesn’t miss too many opportunities either – he has good game awareness.”

Andrew Fifita:
“I guess Cameron Smith. He controls the game he controls his players and where they want to be on point. He’s their leader and he’s the main person in that team.”

David Klemmer:
“Cameron Smith I think, just his kicking game and knowledge of the game. He’s a good game reader, he knows what to do, when to pass and when to kick. In those tough situations he’s very good and it’s why he’s one of the greatest hookers to play the game.”

Aaron Woods:
“They got a lot of dangerous players. Cameron Smith and the way he controls the game, Johnathan Thurston [if he plays] is just an absolute competitor, Cronk as well. You can’t just say one.

Mitchell Pearce:
“I’d say Cameron Smith.”
