True Blues inducted into Roosters Hall of Fame

True Blues Craig Fitzgibbon and Anthony Minichiello have been inducted as the 14th and 15th members of the Sydney Roosters Hall of Fame, along with four other new inductees on Friday evening.

The former Roosters captains join an esteemed group in the club’s history, which includes Westpac NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler, 1989-1990 Blues coach Jack Gibson and four NSWRL The Star Hall of Famers; Dally Messenger, Dave Brown, Arthur Beetson and Ron Coote.

Minichiello made his Roosters debut in Round Four of the 2000 season, going on to play 302 games and scoring 139 tries. He was part of the 2002 NRL Premiership-winning team and captained the Roosters in their 2013 Grand Final victory.

Fitzgibbon joined the Roosters in 2000 from the St George Illawarra Dragons and was a member of the 2002 premiership team, winning the Clive Churchill Medal for Player of the Match. He made 228 appearances while scoring 36 tries and 655 goals for a total of 1454 points, which currently stands as the club record.

The pair each made 11 appearances for NSW, also playing alongside each other for the Blues’ three consecutive Origin series wins between 2003 and 2005.

The NSWRL congratulates Fitzgibbon and Minichiello on their latest achievement.
