NSWRL welcomes upgraded facilities at Greenway Park

The NSWRL has welcomed the opening of upgraded facilities at Greenway Park in Cherrybrook, which will lead to a better experience for all Rugby League participants.

The new features, which were delivered by Hornsby Shire Council with support from the NSW Government through the Office of Sport, include changerooms, first aid and referee rooms, a canteen, club storage, tiered spectator seating, a multi-functional area, upgraded power and water services, and new male, female and accessible public toilets.

“Community Rugby League is the lifeblood of our great game and any move to improve facilities and the experience for participants and spectators is wonderful,” NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said.

“I applaud the support that has been shown for this project by Hornsby Shire Council and the NSW Government and hope the facilities are enjoyed by all for many years to come.”

The launch in mid-June was attended by Hornsby Shire Council Mayor Warren Waddell, Member for Hornsby James Wallace MP and representatives from local sporting clubs including the Pennant Hills-Cherrybrook Stags. The project will benefit 8000 participants who use Greenway Park.

The new facility has been designed to enhance accessibility, support increased female participation, and provide an inclusive environment for a broad range of users.

The completed works form part of Council’s broader vision to upgrade the Greenway Park precinct and ensure it remains a key venue for local sport and recreation. The design model—particularly the flexible changeroom layout and centrally located amenities—provides a strong foundation for future community sport infrastructure projects.
