New South Wales Blues fans will be singing loudly and proudly this year thanks to the launch of a catchy new anthem “We all Bleed Blue” ahead of Game One of the 2020 Ampol State of Origin Series to be held in Adelaide for the first time on Wednesday 4 November.
The passionate anthem, performed by The Star Blues Choir, is set to unite all the team’s official Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues fans, including the Blatchys Blues supporter group, in a show of solidarity as they chase a third successive series victory.
With sport playing a huge role in reviving our nation’s spirits as we embrace COVID-normal times, the 2020 Ampol State of Origin Series is set to be one of the biggest sporting events to round out 2020.
Whether new to the game, a die-hard fan or somewhere in-between, The Star and NSWRL are calling on all Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues supporters to come together to sing the 'We all Bleed Blue' anthem, celebrating and giving an extra voice to support their 2020 campaign.
The Star’s Chief Marketing Officer George Hughes said: “We are thrilled to release the 'We All Bleed Blue' anthem together with NSWRL, to inject a bit of fun and positivity into what has been a very tough year for everyone.
“This anthem allows all Blues fans to unite and shine a spotlight on the rich history of Rugby League and the Blues.
“The anthem is a symbol of what makes NSW great and our collective love for the game. It is also a way for us of to honour and pay homage to all Blues fans and their unwavering support.”
NSWRL Chief Commercial Officer Jodie Cross said: “The 'We all Bleed Blue' anthem is a celebration of the bond that the Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues team and its fans have shared over the past 40 years.
“Our fans are one of the strongest, loudest and proudest supporter groups in Australian sporting history, cheering on the Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues from far and wide.
“We are proud to have the support of more than 13,000 Blatchys Blues fans regularly taking over the northern end of ANZ Stadium kitted out in their blue wigs.
“They are also found in large numbers at interstate venues, and this year we will no doubt see and hear them at Adelaide Oval and Suncorp Stadium singing the 'We all Bleed Blue' anthem, loud and proud.”
Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler said: “While the match-watching experience has been restricted due to social distancing norms, the State of Origin fever remains the same and the Blues fans never fail to celebrate, cheering loud and proud. Now they will be armed with a new anthem.”
